Friends of St. John Paul II “Be Not Afraid!” Center, Inc. foundation was established on January 24, 2013 as an “non-profit” organization under Section 501 (c) (3) of United States Tax Law. The foundation’s headquarters and management are in Linden, New Jersey.
The foundation was created thanks to the kindness of the Archbishop John Myers of Newark, who delegated Fr. Mirosław Król, commissioning him to found and run the foundation. Archbishop Myers also personally joined the foundation’s work to a large extent.
Since the beginning of the foundation’s activity, Cardinal Stanisław Dziwisz of Krakow also actively supported its activities and whenever he is in the United States, he always visits the foundation’s office in Linden.
The Foundation’s main goal is to study, promote and disseminate the teachings that Saint John Paul II preached during his pontificate, as well as to promote and support the work of building the International Center of Saint John Paul II in Krakow, for the construction of which the foundation has donated over $ 1.5 million from the beginning of its activity.
In addition to raising funds for the above purpose, the foundation organizes and supports artistic events, concerts and meetings promoting the teachings of the great pontificate of St. John Paul II. One of such events was the concert “Looking for You”, which took place in the Sanctuary of St. John Paul II in Linden, at which the foundation operates. The curator of the sanctuary is Fr. Mirosław Król, who is also the president of the Foundation. Being a great worshiper of Saint John Paul II, whom he met many times in person, through his commitment to work for the foundation together with the parish community Fr. Król actively develops the cult of St. John Paul II in the United States. As a result, in addition to the main office in Linden, two additional foundation branches were established in the United States – one in Chicago and in Detroit
